Thursday, November 26 (Thanksgiving) – Carolina Panthers (-1, 46.5) at Dallas Cowboys
For the first of our NFL week 12 picks the Panthers find themselves at 10-0 after a career best performance by QB Cam Newton (246 yards passing and 5 TDs) against the Washington Redskins. The next stretch of games will surely test this young team as they are faced with four of its next five games on the road. After losing seven straight games without starting QB Tony Romo, his reappearance in the starting lineup resulted in a road victory over the Miami Dolphins 24-14. It could be the damage has been done, but for the first time this season, the Cowboys are back at full-strength making them one of our favourite NFL week 12 predictions. The Panthers are 8-2 ATS overall and 4-0 ATS on the road. The Cowboys are 3-7 ATS, but 2-1 ATS with Romo at QB. The presence of Romo and Bryant are the difference in this one.
Pick: Cowboys +1
Sunday, November 29 – Minnesota Vikings at Atlanta Falcons (-2, 46)
Our second round of NFL week 12 predictions go to The Vikings who made our NFL week 12 picks coming off a disappointing 30-13 loss to the Packers at home. In that game, the Vikings were hurt by two costly fumbles and big penalties that help the Packers keep drives going. They also had trouble stopping the run, which could create problems against the fifth best running back in the league. The Falcons opened the season 5-0, but have now lost four of its last five games. It’s clear the offence is struggling to score, having scored 21 points are less over each of the last five games. They need to pull it together after losing its last two at home. The trends favour the under where both the Vikings and Falcons have gone under in 8 of 10 games.
Pick: Vikings under 46
Sunday, November 29 – Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs (-4, 41)
The Bills have played well of late, including their last game that resulted in a 20-13 loss to the New Patriots on the road. In that game, the Bills were forced to play on offence between the 30-yard lines, resulting in having trouble putting the ball in the end zone. This has been a common problem all season long. Are NFL week 12 picks favourite Kansas City Chiefs who are attempting to become the first team in NFL history to start the season 1-5 and still make the playoffs. By this time, it’s no secret the Chiefs have a pedestrian offence. It’s also clear its defence is playing at an elite level. Over the last six games, the defence has given up just over 12 point per game. They are currently on a four game winning streak that includes two wins in a row on the road. ATS, the Chiefs are white hot, having covered its last five in a row. Making them our NFL week 12 predictions winner. However, the under looks tempting with two offences that have trouble scoring plus the best defence in the league over the last few games.
Pick: Kansas City under 41
Sunday, November 29 – New York Giants (-2.5, 47) at Washington Redskins
Here our NFL week 12 predictions are with both teams sitting at the top of the division and Romo healthy again, this game is critical to both sides. On offence, the Giants have played well enough to have a better record than 5-5, but the defence just seems to run out of gas late in games. They have lost twice on the last play of the game (Dallas 27-26 in week 1 and New England 27-26 in week 10). The team’s biggest issue on offence is lack of a meaningful rushing attack. The good news is QB Eli Manning has been very efficient with 2,700 yards and 21 TDs with only 6 ints. The Redskins are 4-6 on the season due in part to an offence that just doesn’t generate points. QB Kirk Cousins has played well as a first-year starter in spite of not getting much support from the running game that ranks towards the bottom of the league. The Skins have been far more effective at home (4-1) than on the road (0-5). The feeling is the Giants who have made the NFL week 12 picks have the better team and sit at 3-1-1 ATS on the road.
Pick: Giants -2.5
Sunday, November 29 – New England Patriots (-3, 44) at Denver Broncos
While the Patriots sit at 10-0 on the season, making them winners in our NFL week 12 predictions was not guaranteed as they have looked a bit vulnerable in its last two games. At issue is the fact injuries are starting to pile up on offence, especially to the receiving corp. Of course, QB Tom Brady is still leading the league in passing and the defence is often there to compensate for any shortcomings on the other side of the ball. There is a sense in Denver that the Peyton Manning era is over. That might be a good thing for an offence that has struggle all season long, even when winning eight games in a row to start the season. The Broncos won its first game with Brock Osweiler at the helm, but that was against Chicago and this is the Patriots. The feeling is the trends favour no one, but the Broncos seem to be going wrong way.
Pick: Patriots -3 BEST BET
