The French open betting odds are out, and it is no surprise that Serena Williams is the early favorite to win the Women’s Competition. Our French open tennis predictions project that She will have stiff competition though from rival Maria Sharapova.
Most experts making French open tennis predictions will have either Williams or Sharapova as the winner in Paris. In the French open betting odds, they are the first and second favorites, and it is hard to see a winner not being one of them. Over the past five years, the tournament has been dominated by these two players with either one of them taking the cup home. The last time that a different player other than those two has won in Paris was back in 2011.
When Sharapova first started playing on the professional circuit, she was not known for her ability on clay courts. It used to be her worst surface, but she has turned that around to become one of the best in the world to have ever graced it.
Her energy and ability to cover the whole court have worked well in Paris, and she won her first French Open in 2012 by beating Errani. Back in 2013, Sharapova faced Williams in the French Open final. The former came out on top and since it has been an epic battle between the two of the as to who gets crowned winner at Roland Garcia. In 2014, Sharapova managed to secure her second title by beating Simona Halep. In 2015, Serena then went on to beat Halep in the final.
Our French Open tennis predictions winner – Serena Williams
It was a shock to see Williams lose in the Australian Open final and will be wanting to bounce back in France. She dominate the women’s division last year and won a total of three Grand Slams. Williams tends to start off slowly, and many of her early round matches are harder than they should be. In last year’s French Open she went a set down in her very first match but managed to turn things around.
Apart from the very final game Serena looked in fantastic form at the Australian Open. She had a bad day at the office when Angelique Kerber beat her but overall was dominant. If Williams can get through the early rounds and build up a head of steam, there will be little that can stand in her way of claiming the trophy once again. Roland Garros out of all the other Grand Slam events is the toughest on paper for Williams, but she is on a mission to break records and can not see anyone being able to stop her.
The 2016 French Open Tournament is one that I am looking forward to. We expect that there will be lots of shocks this year in both the Men’s and Women’s competition. It is about time that we had a new female winner of the crown, but we predict that our picks of Williams or Sharapova will come true.
