Palace has crawled over the line with 39 points, and although they are catchable mathematically, it is highly unlikely. The team does not score enough goals, and it will be their top priority to buy a natural goalscorer in the summer. These are hard to come by though so their success next season will depend on how good their scouting team is.
If you had told Stoke fans they would be level on point with Chelsea with two games to go at the start of the campaign; they would have snapped your arm off for it. Sadly, it is not the same Chelsea team as last season, and they are mid-table with nothing left to compete for. Motivation will be a big factor for both teams and will be down to which manager manages to motivate his team the most.
